Welcome to this month's Arcade Simulator where you will step into the shoes of a Network Security Engineer. In this simulation, you'll first lock down access control across your infrastructure—crafting custom IAM roles, scripting permissions, and setting up Identity-Aware Proxy to secure user authentication without traditional VPNs. Then, you'll take control of hybrid enterprise topology, using Network Connectivity Center to link multi-cloud networks, VPCs, and site-to-site HA-VPNs. Complete with two realistic challenge labs, this simulation equips you to eliminate access blind spots, secure cross-cloud traffic, and build a fortress-grade network on Google Cloud.

It’s all about global spans and execution plans. First, you'll get under the hood of Google Cloud Spanner to design schemas, load data at scale, and master query plan optimization. From there, you'll execute your serverless backend plan by wiring up Cloud Run Functions, Pub/Sub messaging, and API Gateway. Packed with two challenge labs, you'll leave with full control over enterprise data and event-driven APIs.
Complete the introductory Create and Manage Cloud Spanner Instances skill badge to demonstrate skills in the following: creating and interacting with Cloud Spanner instances and databases; loading Cloud Spanner databases using various techniques; backing up Cloud Spanner databases; defining schemas and understanding query plans; and deploying a Modern Web App connected to a Cloud Spanner instance.
Earn the intermediate Skill Badge by completing the Connecting Cloud Networks with NCC where you will learn how to use the Network Connectivity Center to connect your on-premises, cloud enterprise networks, and hybrid networks, and manage them as spokes through a single, centralized hub on Google Cloud.
