This is the first of two Quests of hands-on labs is derived from the exercises from the book Data Science on Google Cloud Platform, 2nd Edition by Valliappa Lakshmanan, published by O'Reilly Media, Inc. In this first Quest, covering up through chapter 8, you are given the opportunity to practice all aspects of ingestion, preparation, processing, querying, exploring and visualizing data sets using Google Cloud tools and services.
The third course in this course series is Achieving Advanced Insights with BigQuery. Here we will build on your growing knowledge of SQL as we dive into advanced functions and how to break apart a complex query into manageable steps. We will cover the internal architecture of BigQuery (column-based sharded storage) and advanced SQL topics like nested and repeated fields through the use of Arrays and Structs. Lastly we will dive into optimizing your queries for performance and how you can secure your data through authorized views. Google Cloud Fundamentals: Core Infrastructure introduces important concepts and terminology for working with Google Cloud. Through videos and hands-on labs, this course presents and compares many of Google Cloud's computing and storage services, along with important resource and policy management tools.
