The steps may need to be reviewed, since by following the instructions, the student may get confused and clicks on "Create new free instance", which is different from the Development preset, which causes to lab to be flagged and ended. Additionally, it is only instructed to select MySQL 8.0, and the default minor version after doing so is set to 8.0.4, which for some reason does not allow connecting via the gcloud proxy, since it appears to not support caching_sha2_password.

Additionally, it is only instructed to select MySQL 8.0, and the default version after doing so is set to 8.4, which does not allow connecting via the gcloud proxy, since it appears to not support caching_sha2_password.
