A good introductory tutorial on how firewalls and networks work, and why one would set up firewalls in varying ways. At one point, when the external IP was removed for privatenet-us-vm, I wasn't able to ping or curl out from that instance, but gsutil commands seemed to give back normal output. I'm not sure if that is expected or if the gsutil commands should return nothing as well.
