I feel like the primary subject here was using Gemini to generate queries, which, from my experience here, it's not capable of doing. It told me to enter a prompt to generate the sales data table, which I did. The query it gave me wasn't valid, I could see it wasn't, BQ's own query validator told me that it wasn't. The mistakes were largely using invalid field names, products.product_id instead of products.id, for example. I fixed it up, and even though it was different to the example here, it still produced the table. However, when trying to check my progress, it tells me I haven't completed the step. Finally, I give up and copy the example from Skills Boost, which generates the exact same results and then I'm allowed to pass. The ML example was even worse, no matter what prompt I entered I would give me a SELECT * query for the model. So I'm here like, does this thing even work??
