it seems there is no data written to the topic. Therefore, when we create a subsrciption for the topic and a processing pipeline writing to BQ, there's no record in BiqQuery (since no record is sent to pipeline)

Dataflow failed the first time and seemed stuck the second as it took far longer than 5 minutes before I gave up on it. Restarting lab from scratch didn't change anything. Either the guide needs to be changed or the lab needs to be fixed.
