Direction at some points were not very clear so it took some time to figure out. Turns out it was the order of the steps that was not correct.

the instructions are out of order for setting up dataflow, looker is not able to find as per the instructions

Like many others in the comments, the lab instructions do not match the available options in Dataflow so I was unable to complete the lab.
