Seems like the dataset that were pre-loaded on the pub/sub topic were empty. Though multiple pipelines were created, the data flow doesn't happen to big query.

BigQuery did not work even after waiting over 20 minutes and multiple attempts of setting up pipelines.

The dataflow job didn't work. There was no data in the table. After 25 mins or so I had to cancel the lab. Will try to redo.
