If SSH times out, you get an error that directories could not be created when installing gcloud if you make a mistake assigning a key, like $USERID2 in SSH, then you won't be able to change it and progress further in the lab Would be helpful to note how to reset bashrc or offer an option to if a student gets stuck there.

Installing gcloud does not always add it to $PATH. You have to export it to .bashrc manually sometimes, but the lab then is unable to check if beta component is installed If SSH times out, you get an error that directories could not be created when installing gcloud if you make a mistake assigning a key, like $USERID2 in SSH, then you won't be able to change it and progress further in the lab Would be helpful to note an alternate cmd if a student gets stuck there.
