Config from github code assumes the older version of mongo and uses flags not supported anymore. That kept pods crashing until I removed them from StatefulSet yaml.

Either this lab needs updating or there's a GCP problem, but it's just not creating the three mongo pods -- the first two keep having CrashLoopBackoff as shown below, and the third never gets created.
