The generated bucket name (in $MYBUCKET) starts with "google" since the username starts with "google", which is *INVALID* as a bucket name. So the bucket creation will always fail.

In qwiklabs, the bucket using the user ID was not able to be created - the student ID begins with 'google' and I suspect this is why the bucket name was restricted. I used my qwiklabs gcp project ID instead for both the bucket name and dataproc job name. Just something to note.
