two things: at the iend it should say: we ping the INTERNAL IPs - in the code, the snippet is correct, but in the text it says the external... secondly: leaving the target tags blank in order to select "match on all instances" is no longer supported. now you HAVE to insert a tag, OR use the dropdown to select all targets in the network Regards, K

Please review when students should use REGION_1 or REGION_2 to be sure. The final screenshot help to understand what kind of parameters gcloud commands should be taken.

Since it's new concepts, maybe using the GUI rather than very long clis would be better. A schematic would have been nice to understand more

It would be good to show how to delete objects created from GCloud to fix typos etc. Also, UI differs from what you mention so the material is a little outdated.
