The EC2Admin group policy did not allow 'Describe'. When I logged in as the user in that group, I was not able to work with the running instance as expected. Also, I was not able to submit changes to the policy in order to enable it.

The end was pretty flaky... The sort of "Play around with it" instructions at the end are too vague. Liked the lab in general, though.
