The Create alerting policy for the VM creation metric step is looking for a: protoPayload.methodName="v1.compute.instances.insert" in the metric but the Logs Explorer only shows: protoPayload.methodName="beta.compute.instances.insert". If you cant get this step to pass try changing the log metric by switching beta for v1.
