Decided I wasn't following the instructions (though I was, to the letter) and ended. I'm not impressed.

Good and informational. Clear in a lot of the commands and what each does but it doesn't show you the expected output from a command frequently enough. Because of the time constraint I was not able to finish. I had issues when creating a swapfile that I tried to debug but ended up simply recreating a VM for the sake of time. After that I was able to get to a point where geth was installed and syncing but I ran out of time to proceed further.
