the HPA exercise doesn't work, here are the logs: Events: Type Reason Age From Message ---- ------ ---- ---- ------- Warning FailedComputeMetricsReplicas 113s (x12 over 4m44s) horizontal-pod-autoscaler failed to compute desired number of replicas based on listed metrics for Deployment/default/web: invalid metrics (1 invalid out of 1), first error is: failed to get cpu utilization: missing request for cpu Warning FailedGetResourceMetric 98s (x13 over 4m44s) horizontal-pod-autoscaler missing request for cpu Also, I needed to remove the deployment and create a new one after applying node taint and toleration for the web deployment.

Pod or something could not get CPU -> no autoscaling happened for web. Tried to google around that problem but couldn't find answer quickly enough, lab was about to timeout.
