There were several issues with this lab that required manual fixes. The original web.yaml did not work with the autoscaler, generating errors 'missing request for cpu'. This seems to be possible to fix by patching the template spec with resources containing cpu specs. Then when creating the node-pool there were many errors, and it failed with one new node created. The suggestion in the tutorial is to remove the --preemptible flag, but later parts of the workshop rely on a selector for preemptible nodes, so the rest of the workshop then fails. Simply following the instructions leads to failure.
