You can't complete half the tasks in the lab because Stackdriver doesn't recognize GCE compute as an option half the time (options are just Cloud ML, Cloud Spanner, Logging Metrics). And the few times it does allow you to choose it as an option (by closing and reopening the modals), the metric options don't load.
