had to install tcpdump to start the lab and then install dnsutils to use the dig command

Very bad. Was able to get the commands to work after searching through the forums. However, this did test my troubleshooting skills.

Would not let me even do the first command. I even logged off and reinstated the VM, but still no luck.

half of the commands don't work. you have to install tcpdump but nothing tells you that.
