Like the lab admits, using the vision API is better and probably less resource intensive than this approach. Also, the lab instructions may be obsolete this month (Jan 2020) because the --region option is becoming mandatory; you should add an instruction for users taking this lab to execute "gcloud config set dataproc/region <your-default-region>" in order to prevent problems when this change goes into effect.

The last two verification steps do not work. I also believe verification is checking the "global" region instead of us-central1.
