1. Creating a VM showed an image that you won't see in the console. 2. Section "Submit your job to Cloud Dataproc", step 2/3, this always failed (even recreated cluster, still no result). Message was about some XML-file not found. 3. Sometimes it's clear whether a command should be run in the command shell, or the SSH of the VM. I would agree that the student should know this. However, when something is not working, you start to doubt a lot and try even more. I guess I would like more pointers when something doesn't work.
