Lab instructions asked me to deploy two 1st gen cloud functions in the region europe-west4. However, according to https://cloud.google.com/functions/docs/locations, only 2nd gen functions are supported in that region. I was unable to successfully complete the lab and will be trying it again. Hopefully I will be assigned a region that is compatible with 1st and 2nd gen functions. Second attempt update: Cloud shell disconnected several times so I had to redo parts of the lab. Increased rating to two starts since I was assigned a region that worked (us-west1) for both 1st and 2nd gen functions.
