I was a little confused. In the VM instances page, there was an RDP button already there to the right of the instance name. I clicked the dropdown next to it and set a password, downloaded the file, opened it, and then accessed the windows desktop. These steps were confusing. When I entered the command to see if my thing was ready for an RDP connection, it kept giving me errors.
