Changing external IP address changed in the console, so it was quite a puzzle for a bit. Need to go into network interfaces now when editing the VM

Directions are slightly out of date. If testing from Google, we have IPv6 addresses which it GCP does not allow you to set firewall rules to your IP if IPv6. Also in order to remove ephemeral external IP, you must go to external IP section in VPC network and change the IP to a static IP and un-assign it that way. However, if you click SSH to instance, it will automatically receive a new ephemeral IP and you have to start the process of removing it all over again.
