Console doesn't support setting retention period as duration (30 days), but only the CLI, differently than specified in the instructions. I nearly failed the lab and had to figure on my own, but it took around 15 mins twice, to restart the backup after the first blunder. In my 1st try, I tried setting 30 days by timestamp 30 days in the future.

There is no option to use 30 days from Console - so you have to do that using gcloud and updating metadata
