I just completed the "Identify Horses or Humans with TensorFlow and Vertex AI" lab, and it was a valuable experience in advancing my understanding of image classification using convolutional neural networks (CNNs). This lab went beyond simple centered images by training a model to recognize features in images where the subject could be anywhere. I learned how to build, compile, and train a CNN model on a dataset of horse and human images, and then deploy it using Vertex AI. The hands-on approach of this lab, coupled with the use of real cloud resources, provided practical insights into convolutional operations and their application in complex image classification tasks. This knowledge will be instrumental in my future projects involving computer vision and deep learning.
