When you ran gcloud compute ssh mc-server, GCP rejected your SSH connection with the error: student_04_8cf8069d1cfa_qwiklabs@136.70.125.239: Permission denied (publickey). This happened because OS Login was enabled on the project/instance, but there was an identity mismatch or broken key synchronization between your Cloud Shell session and Google's central IAM identity service: The Mismatch: Cloud Shell generated an SSH key pair tied to your local Cloud Shell user identity (student_04_8cf8069d1cfa), but OS Login tried to authenticate as a modified corporate identity (student_04_8cf8069d1cfa_qwiklabs). The Re-creation Factor: When you deleted and recreated mc-server, the new VM imported default project-level OS Login settings without having your updated SSH public key in its local user profile, blocking connection attempts via public key authentication. 2.
