The VM instance edit page became unresponsive when I clicked on adding new metadata item then moved to different screen without adding a value for key input field. Seems like the validation caused it.

Section 7 was impossible to do via UI. When entering Edit mode of the mc-server VM, the whole UI just got frozen, Firefox informed me there's something on the webpage that slows down Firefox and I just couldn't set the startup and shutdown scripts via UI. I then started Cloud Shell and used the following gcloud command to set those startup and shutdown scripts into place (you may need to adjust your to a correct zone) gcloud compute instances add-metadata mc-server \ --zone=europe-west4-a \ --metadata=startup-script-url=https://storage.googleapis.com/cloud-training/archinfra/mcserver/startup.sh,shutdown-script-url=https://storage.googleapis.com/cloud-training/archinfra/mcserver/shutdown.sh
