What was the point of step 1? SSH into a VM and do nothing with it? We created a dashboard using Data Studio, but I didn't see any streaming data. Wasn't even mentioned.

Not sure why we had to create the vm and set environment variables at the start. This seems like an awfully basic course for the data engineering channel.
