The home directory part is confusing and for non savy people they may not be able to figure out what you meant by "go to the homedir". That part needs to be updated as it was hard to follow and how to open and use VI was a little confusing.

There's no .bash_profile file in the home directory. This file's name is .profile We could however create a new .bash_profile, but as per the .profile file comments, its commands would be ignored.
