The average distance calculation is based on an already calculated "Average Distance" measure so there is no good reason to use a calculated measure - it should have been based on the average of the "Distance" field.

likely there is a bug in look 4 (average of distance won't work, but average of average distance does)

Got the first check to work by using Average Distance in the calculation instead of just distance. Not sure if that makes sense.
