first function cannot be deployed without changing package.json, but with changed file validation of step is not going through

Failed to deploy in Task 2. Please fix the instruction!! This lab is written so bad. I could not follow the Redeploy the function in Task 5!! There is no Container tab in #4. Please fix the instruction!! Turns out in Task 2, !!Important: you MUST SELECT Cloud function not Cloud function gen1, or the temperature-converter function will not be deployed to Cloud Run. Update it please!! There are many users affected by this crap.
