There is an error in Task 6 when trying to query the newly created demo_dataset.external_table : "Cannot read and write in different locations: source: us-east4, destination: US". This is because the GCS bucket is in us-east4 but the BQ dataset is in the US multi-region which now defaults to us-central1. Note that this does not prevent you from finishing the lab but I think it's due to some recent changes in how BQ multi-region datasets are provisioned. This is also true for the EU multi-region that now defaults to europe-west4
