The section about using the public IP was confusing. I ended up using the internal IP and vpc peering to get it to work for task 2 and 3. I'm not sure if this was the correct way to do it but that was the only way I was able to move onto the next task. Still really enjoying these labs! Thank you!

I can´t finished the lab because. it was possible provisioner the cloud shell to connect mysql instance.
