The setup script bring in TF 0.12.0 which means the example doesn't work. I had to modify the script to bring in 0.11.* before I could run the example. Once I ran the example I felt like I didn't really understand what it was doing. It would have been better if the Load Balancer was brought up through a series of changes to the TF file. For example bringing up the VMs first with a version 1.0 of the TF files, then git checkout 1.1 to bring up VPC etc...
