Perhaps this was part of the test in this challenge but I found that the checks were not passing with the score until I realized I had to create my compute instance in the same zone as the lab monitor instance.

The lab does not support installing a direct script in the metadata, it must be via a bucket. Also, if the script name is not as the lab expects I get no points even tough the solution works.
