My first attempt at running this lab produced a weird error that seemed to indicate the project ID environment variable had not been correctly set. However the second attempt worked so the problem must have been an intermittent one.

The instructions for the first step are invalid. Even pasting directly from the lab page, cloud shell produces this error: student_00_ebb4519d93c4@cloudshell:~$ gsutil mb -l us gs://$DEVSHELL_PROJECT_ID-kms InvalidUrlError: Invalid bucket name in URL "-kms".

The lab is excellent. For beginners, if you please mention some tools used to automate the KMS that would be great. e.g. berglas. https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/berglas
