Lab Feedback I encountered an issue during the deployment of the Cloud Function that appears to be related to the lab environment rather than the instructions. The deployment initially failed because the Google-managed service agents required by Cloud Functions Gen2 and Pub/Sub were not available or had not been properly provisioned. The errors included: service-<PROJECT_NUMBER>@gcp-sa-pubsub.iam.gserviceaccount.com does not exist service-<PROJECT_NUMBER>@gcf-admin-robot.iam.gserviceaccount.com does not have storage.objects.get access As a result, the deployment could not copy the generated source archive from the staging bucket to the internal Cloud Functions bucket. The issue was resolved after manually creating the required service identities using: gcloud beta services identity create --service=cloudfunctions.googleapis.com gcloud beta services identity create --service=pubsub.googleapis.com After that, the deployment completed successfully and I was able to finish the lab. It may be helpful to ensure these service identities are automatically provisioned before students reach the deployment step, or to document this recovery procedure in the lab instructions.
