Something was wrong in the instruction. I faced the following issue but following the exact step of this lab: The VM had "OS-Login" enabled, which rejected standard SSH keys. I fixed it by running: gcloud compute instances add-metadata vm-internal --zone=us-west1-b --metadata enable-oslogin=FALSE
