1. Following the instructions results in a Cloud SQL instance with no public IP, so the connection from Cloud Shell fails. Adding a public IP after the fact fixed it. 2. After promotion, the "master" instance no longer exists and is not displayed. 3. The checker on the last step said I had not done then promotion, but I had.
