Code is too old, interpolation like "${var.instance_name}" is no longer preffered, fmt corrects that, but update the code please. The fact that you still mention self_link in this article is an aberration, this is not needed and it is a legacy mistake from GCP terraform modules. If you still want to refer to it, you should explain the history behind int. Specially since to get any reference in the official documentation you need to go to a version 3 years old
