The instructions have you skip the important steps of setting up an endpoint and deploying the model. I decided to wait because I wanted to actually complete those steps, but after an hour of waiting needed to move on. It would be good if the lab could be exactly like deploying a model, except have GCP provide the pre-trained model automatically for deployment.
