Some of the instructions around model setup for the LoanRisk model were unclear. Specifically, in the selection of features, it should have been explicitly stated which features to select with the checkboxes, which to not selected with the checkboxes, and which to remove entirely with the minus sign. My model never finished computing, so I had to rely on the written description of the lab as opposed to actually experiencing the process.
