The region and zone are very specific and still not available. It would be a good idea to make the zones more flexible for such issues. It's been a week now. I am curious whether this same issue is experienced with real products people make too, or just the labs. It seems quite problematic if the issue is also being experienced outside the labs.

unable to finish the lab ... followed the instruction but got different results unable to create a VM instance it is not being created.

Imposible to create VM in us-central region. In other regions lab cannot check progress. If I create other type of VM - the lab says that I use environment incorrectly and threatens that my account will be blocked

These courses should allow creation of instances in other regions/zones. I keep getting errors when creating a VM in the required region/zone.

Not able to pass the first check because in the first step, not able to create a VM due to un-availability in the specified zone. Retried multiple times, the VM is still not available. However, if you create a VM not using the specified zone or not using default VM hardware configuration, the lab thinks you are not following the instruction and terminate the lab. The lab assumes you do not make any mistake in every step and it does not allow you to make corrections since that will deemed as not following the instruction. Create VM instance "dev-instance" and its boot disk "dev-instance" 1 minute ago qwiklabs-gcp-01-578aeaada64e A e2-medium VM instance is currently unavailable in the us-central1-a zone. Alternatively, you can try your request again with a different VM hardware configuration or at a later time. For more information, see the troubleshooting documentation.
