The lab is outdated, and had some problems with the sh tfx-init.sh script. Got the error "ERROR: (gcloud.notebooks.instances.create) The zone 'projects/qwiklabs-gcp-04-a212420baecf/zones/us-central1-a' does not have enough resources available to fulfill the request. Try a different zone, or try again later." I changed the location so it can work.

This lab has an issue with the final step to “Create and monitor a pipeline run with the TFX CLI”. The job fails on the trainer step with the following details in the log: Field: region Error: The provided GCE region 'us-central1-b' is not available, or your project needs to be whitelisted to use it. In lab-02 notebook, if the user sets up the GCP_REGION without the -b (ex. 'us-central1' instead of 'us-central1-b') for “Configure your environment resource settings” step in the section “Exercise: build your pipeline with the TFX CLI”, the job will complete successfully, however the final two ‘Check my progress’ checks will fail and the user cannot complete the lab. Analysis: Task 1: Create an instance of AI Platform Pipelines Step 5: To create cluster select Zone as us-central1-b then check Allow access to the following Cloud APIs, leave the name as is, and then click Create New Cluster. Result: Kubeflow pipeline cluster created and deployed as instructed (Creating "cluster-1" in zone "us-central1-b") Step 7: In Cloud Shell, run the following to configure kubectl command line access: gcloud container clusters get-credentials cluster-1 --zone us-central1-b --project qwiklabs-gcp-03-32dd597cae85 Task 2: Access AI Platform Notebooks Step 2: You should see the tfx-on-googlecloud notebook preprovisioned for you. If not, wait a few minutes and refresh the page. Result: User managed notebook is automatically setup with default settings for zone us-central1-a In Jupyter notebook lab-02 Section “Exercise: build your pipeline with the TFX CLI” Step “Configure your environment resource settings” Cell 2: #TODO: Set your environment resource settings here for GCP_REGION, ARTIFACT_STORE_URI, ENDPOINT, and CUSTOM_SERVICE_ACCOUNT. GCP_REGION = ‘us-central1-b’ ENDPOINT = 'https://663333e03f5b59f8-dot-us-central1.pipelines.googleusercontent.com' Section “Create and monitor a pipeline run with the TFX CLI” Cell 1: # TODO: your code here to trigger a pipeline run with the TFX CLI Result: Job failure. In reviewing the tfx_covertype_continuous_training experiments graph, the failure is on the trainer step. Logs: raise HttpError(resp, content, uri=self.uri) 69googleapiclient.errors.HttpError: <HttpError 400 when requesting https://ml.googleapis.com/v1/projects/qwiklabs-gcp-03-32dd597cae85/jobs?alt=json returned "Field: region Error: The provided GCE region 'us-central1-b' is not available, or your project needs to be whitelisted to use it. wait a waste of time waiting for things to deploy, and then get errors
