Canary deployment was only observable from Cloud Shell. The same exact command loop using the external IP produced 100% v1.0.0 when doing it from a local terminal in my machine, but produced 20% v2.0.0 when done from within Cloud Shell. Same for the browser - only blue cards were seen. When the production nodes were updated, only then did the cards turn orange and version returned v2.0.0 from outside.
