Deploying the functions needs some warnings about the errors it might throw. Using Python39 gave me two error messages, here is one of them: ERROR: (gcloud.functions.deploy) OperationError: code=13, message=Failed to configure trigger providers/cloud.storage/eventTypes/object.change After I switched to 38 (despite 39 being recommended) because i was desperate and the clock was ticking, it actually worked.
