Hello, Take a coffee break, it's gonna be a long review ;) **Sorry, but this is by far the messiest lab I had during the full specialization of "Cloud Architecture with Google Cloud"** It should be greatly simplified to go toward the essential goal of the lab: deploy a deployment-manager template. You can look at already done labs, for instance in: https://googlecoursera.qwiklabs.com/focuses/37342 I will details the points which did not reach my expectations :) # Add validations in your lab * We were talking about KPI, why not use them here ? * Allow to validate the student work # Add the project selection (basic but appreciated) * gcloud config set project <ID> # People are not really here to learn YAML * There is too much information about YAML syntax * Details only the basic structure and the configuration # API to YAML Conversion part * It's the first time I got this suggestion, about using the doc to convert directly to template * Good idea to force learning about API REST but again, it's not the topic * Usually we get the "go to create in the interface and look at the 'Equivalent REST or command line' button" => Why not direct user to it and export their config + a link to official API ? * Website provided use deprecated flash, you started with command line, why not finish with command line ? sudo apt search python-yaml python -c 'import yaml, sys; print(yaml.dump(yaml.load(open(sys.argv[1])), default_flow_style=False))' instance-properties.txt # Export Zone => recommend variable export YOUR_ZONE=europe-north1-a gcloud compute machine-types list | grep $YOUR_ZONE gcloud compute machine-types describe f1-micro --zone $YOUR_ZONE # In case of failure during deployment why ask to go into interface while all the lab was in the shell ? gcloud deployment-manager deployments delete appserver Best luck and stil thanks for providing the lab & course. Regards
