my org does not allow opening google sheets.. sad i could not proceed with the lab..

I ran into some issues, but that led to greater learning. Primarily, I didn't see that I needed to enter a comment into the new column, and I discovered that the column won't be pulled into BigQuery if there's no data, even if there's a header row. Interesting.
