This step does not work or explain how to change to home directory (typing CD did nothing and DIR showed nothing to edit - not clear for non-linux user) Step 9: Modify the bash profile Change to the home directory using cd and edit the .bash_profile file with nano. Add the following line to the end of the file. Type nano .bash_profile to edit the file and type Ctrl-O, Y, ENTER to save the file and Ctrl-X to exit nano.
